Mark came to Greenville, SC in 1990 as a freshman at Furman University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Collegiate Educational Service Corporation. He graduated with a B.A. in Urban Studies/Sociology in 1994, then immediately joined Northwestern Mutual as a Wealth Management Advisor. Today he holds the professional distinction of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), as well as professional memberships with the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Greenville Estate Planning Council.
Mark is married to Amy, a Greenville native, and they have three sons: Witt, Joey, and Carter. He is committed to and actively involved in the Greenville community. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an Elder. Additionally, he has served on the boards of some key organizations in the Greenville community, including United Way of Greenville, Community Foundation of Greenville, and Gateway House. Mark currently serves on the board of Presbyterian Retirement Communities of SC.
Dave is a native of Knoxville, TN. He came to Greenville as a student at Furman University, where he graduated in 1972, then went on to earn an MBA from the Clemson-Furman program in 1976. After five years in banking, Dave came to Northwestern Mutual as an advisor in 1981 and has been here since. He served for 28 years as Managing Director of the Greenville office, retiring from that position in 2010 to focus on his wealth management practice. Dave holds the professional distinction of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), as well as professional memberships with the Greenville Estate Planning Council, the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
Dave is a long-time supporter of the Greenville Community. He is a trustee of Furman University, and a director of Southern First Bank. He is also a past trustee of United Way of Greenville County, the YMCA Endowment Corporation, and the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities. He and his wife Frances are the proud parents of three grown sons, and two grandchildren.
Thomas, a native of Columbia, SC, is a 1993 graduate of Wofford College with a B.A. in History. He has 22 years of experience advising clients regarding their wealth protection, accumulation, and distribution. He joined Northwestern Mutual in 2015 as a Wealth Management Advisor. He holds the professional certification CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).
Thomas enjoys living and working in Greenville, SC, along with his wife, Amy, and three daughters: Caroline, Roe, and Elizabeth. He serves on several nonprofit boards including The Roe Foundation and Neighborhood Focus, and is also an Elder at First Presbyterian Church. In 2009, Thomas was awarded The Order of the Palmetto by Governor Mark Sanford.
Rachel has worked at Northwestern Mutual with Mark Clary’s team for over 15 years, earning her SC Life & Accident/Health and Long Term care licenses. She is primarily responsible for overseeing the business and day-to-day operations for our team. She also manages Mark’s calendar and schedules investment reviews. Rachel loves living and working in her hometown of Greenville, along with her husband David and their three children: Avery, Blythe, and Jonah. They have also enjoyed serving in various capacities at Downtown Presbyterian Church since 2009.
Dana brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry to the team, which she joined in 2013. Dana assists our clients with their retirement plan solutions, particularly 401(k)s and other such tax-advantaged retirement plans. She provides retirement plan benchmarking, employee and fiduciary education, and assistance with vendor selection. She has earned the FINRA Series 6 & 63 securities licenses, as well as the Life Variable and Accident/Health insurance licenses. Dana earned a B.A. in Business Administration, with an emphasis in finance and marketing, from Regis University in Denver, CO. Originally from Oklahoma, she met her husband Whitney at Regis. They relocated to his hometown of Greenville, SC in 2008, where they enjoy life with their six golden retrievers. Dana currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greenville Humane Society.
Kelly joined Northwestern Mutual in February of 2016. She handles all of our investment client servicing, personal planning, and account-related client needs. Prior to joining our team, Kelly was Client Service Advisor for a private wealth management team in New York City for three years. Kelly graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration, and holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Originally from Burlington, Vermont, Kelly now calls Greenville, SC her home. In her free time Kelly enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities, cheering on New York professional teams, and exploring her new city.
Rebekah joined Northwestern Mutual in 2015 and has worked with Thomas Willcox since April of 2017. She is a Registered Associate Financial Representative and is licensed to assist our clients with implementation and service of life insurance, disability insurance, long term care insurance, and annuities. She also manages Thomas’s calendar and is FINRA Series 6 & 63 securities licensed to help facilitate retirement plan account set up and service. Rebekah earned a B.S. from Liberty University. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, she relocated to Greenville after college to be close to her sister, brother-in-law and 5 nieces and nephews. In her free time Rebekah enjoys hiking, kayaking, exploring historical sites, attending concerts and spending as much time with her nieces and nephews as possible. She also enjoys participating and serving at North Hills Church in Taylors, SC.
Susan joined Northwestern Mutual in July of 2018 after a 29-year career as an executive assistant to the President and CEO of a public company, where she provided organizational support, prepared for board meetings, and processed payroll and accounts payable. She now acts as Dave Ellison’s executive assistant - managing his calendar, coordinating and preparing annual and fiduciary reviews and 401(k) enrollments. Susan also provides support for our clients’ insurance service needs. Susan is proud to be a Greenville native and enjoys spending time with her family.
